Cancelling a class pass
What happens when a member cancels their monthly class pass — for them, for you, and at the door.
How a pass is cancelled
A class pass is an ordinary Stripe subscription on your own connected account, so cancellation happens in Stripe rather than in a Mybers screen. In practice that means one of two things:
- The member cancels — from the Manage or cancel link in the confirmation email Mybers sends when they buy the pass (no account needed), or by asking you.
- You cancel for them — find the subscription in your Stripe Dashboard and cancel it there. This is also how you handle a guest who bought a pass without ever becoming a member.
The pass runs to the end of the paid period
Cancelling doesn't cut anyone off mid-month. The subscription stays active until the end of the period they've already paid for, and only then does Stripe actually end it. There's no proration and no refund of the current month unless you issue one yourself.
What you see
Mybers listens to Stripe and keeps the pass subscription in step: the status follows Stripe's (active, trialing, past due, canceled), and the change lands the moment Stripe reports it. A cancelled pass is recorded, not deleted, so the history of who held a pass and when stays intact. Payments already collected remain in your Payments list as normal.
At check-in afterwards
Check-in recognises a pass holder automatically while the pass is valid. Once Stripe ends the subscription, the pass no longer counts and check-in shows the person as not covered — take a drop-in payment, spend a class-pack credit, or ask them to resubscribe from the class page.
One deliberate exception: a pass in past due still works at the door. Stripe is mid-retry on the card, and turning a paying regular away over a temporary decline is the wrong outcome — it's the same forgiveness the dues model gives members.
Coming back
There's nothing to restore. The member subscribes again from the class page (or the class's QR code) and is recognised at the next class.
